Reimagining a Folktale Through My Eyes

Blue Bird is my way of reimagining a timeless folktale. I wanted to take this familiar story and filter it through my own lens—adding fresh textures, emotions, and rhythms. It became less about retelling and more about seeing how an old tale could breathe again in my hands.

Inside the Story

The original folktale speaks of the search for happiness symbolized by a blue bird.
My version reimagines the bird not just as a symbol of joy, but as a fragile and fleeting moment of wonder.
Through this work, I explore how happiness often reveals itself in subtle, unexpected ways.

Unraveling the Tale

To retell a traditional tale, I felt it was important to carefully distill its message to resonate with our contemporary sensibilities. I then brought that thoughtfully chosen message to life through rich textures and luminous colors.

Beauty in every shared moment.

In Blue Bird, the message I focused on was less about the journey’s destination and more about the delicate moments of beauty shared between the two children.
