What if Saturn’s rings were made of all the things we’ve lost?

People say Saturn’s rings are made of rock.
But what if—just what if—they were made of lost socks, buttons, and missing homework instead?
This poem playfully kicks the little mysteries of everyday life straight into space!

 Inside the Book

Neal Levin’s poem playfully sings of small yet curious mysteries.
The idea that Saturn’s rings might be made of lost crayons or lunch money is a theme any illustrator would long to draw, don’t you think?
Beyond what Neal imagined, I also tucked in little things of my own that I’ve “lost” here and there.
I hoped children would look at the scene and think, “Hey, that looks just like the thing I lost last week!”

Doesn’t it feel like our little child is about to soar toward Saturn’s rings any moment now?
I composed the scene so that everything seems to rise skyward, with stage-like lighting from above adding a more dramatic touch.

 Author’s Note

"Drawing this was pure fun.
It felt like opening a box of forgotten treasures and watching them float off into space.
I hope kids laugh, wonder, and maybe even feel a little better about lost things."
