The Old Man and The Sea

A quiet voyage of courage and reckoning beneath the open sky.

 A Quick Peek

Santiago’s solitary struggle with the sea becomes a meditative, visual journey.
This illustration project explores endurance, memory, and the line between dream and wakefulness — using strong silhouettes, moonlit atmospheres, and intimate boat-side moments.

My First E-book Journey

This first e-book let me explore beyond my usual style.
I discovered a love for mono-tone silhouettes and the quiet strength they hold. Grateful to Mr. Ahn for this chance.

 Inside the Book

Hemingway’s tale of the old fisherman is at once epic and quietly human.
The book follows a lone fisherman’s long day and night on the water — his battle, his memories, and the silent companionship of the sea.
My images aim to hold that balance: intimate scenes of hands and ropes set against the endless horizon.

The Sea of Possibilities

I created these illustrations to offer readers a beautiful frame they can fill themselves. The frame is as wide and deep as the sea,

allowing each reader to populate it with their own imagination.

Composed of silhouetted images, the artwork is designed to resonate

with each viewer, settling beautifully in their hearts.

Where Shadows Sing

Silhouettes may be bold,
yet they cannot always capture the small stories that details convey. Still, a silhouette holds its own charm in guiding the eye

toward the grace of the whole.

That grace emerges from a sense of dynamic rhythm, and even in a still frame,

I hope the image can reach readers like the sound of a song.

Author’s Note

"Painting these pages felt like learning to listen to ropes, waves, and the small sounds that tell a longer story.
I tried to leave room in the pictures for the reader’s own memories."
